With this Sustainability Policy, Grandi Stazioni Rail identifies the principles that, in accordance with those of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group, inspire the strategies, activities, and processes of the Company, including those related to its Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), for the responsible management of its impacts, both towards the communities in which it operates and towards its own people.

Grandi Stazioni Rail is the company of the FS Group entrusted with the redevelopment, enhancement, and management of the 14 largest stations in the national railway network, with the aim of ensuring optimal accessibility and comfort for users (passengers, visitors, and clients). The stations play a central role in the railway system and urban mobility, both because of their great architectural, cultural, and social value, and for the multiple functions they serve as places for welcoming and transiting travelers, shopping centers, meeting points, service centers, art venues, events, and culture.

Grandi Stazioni Rail directs and manages all its activities and assets according to objectives and methods focused on environmental and social sustainability, with the involvement of personnel, suppliers, and other stakeholders. It promotes and develops the quality and innovation of services and processes, also through the efficient use of natural resources, the minimization of environmental and social impacts, the establishment of a safe and inclusive work environment, and the creation of shared value.


ISO 14001:2015 Certification

As part of the sustainability strategies and policies promoted by the FS Group, Grandi Stazioni Rail S.p.A. has obtained certification for its Environmental Management System in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 standard for all the properties it manages (Palermo C.le, Bari C.le, Napoli C.le, Roma Termini, Roma Tiburtina, Firenze S. Maria Novella, Bologna Centrale, Verona Porta Nuova, Venezia Mestre, Venezia S. Lucia, Milano Centrale, Torino Porta Nuova, Genova P. Principe, and Genova Brignole).

Through the implementation of this certified system, Grandi Stazioni Rail has increased the percentage of waste recycling in the managed assets and has initiated energy efficiency initiatives with the goal of reducing its consumption.

Thus, Grandi Stazioni Rail continues its commitment to controlling the environmental impacts of its activities, managing compliance in a structured way, ensuring continuous improvement of its performance, and contributing to the dissemination of environmental awareness in the country, as promoted by the FS Group.


SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

As part of an integrated process involving the major companies of the Group, since 2009, we have been reporting non-financial information regarding economic, environmental, and social performance to feed, in a consolidated manner and in compliance with the “GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards,” the Sustainability Report (RdS) of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group.
