Venezia Mestre
Venezia Mestre station receives approximately 85 thousand transit visits per day, 31 million per year, with some 500 trains per day; located in piazzale Pietro Favretti, it is a strategic hub for the articulated transport system that operates in the Venetian hinterland.
Present situation
On the
ground floor, at track level, it hosts various commercial and catering activities together with traveller services, while the upper floors are occupied by catering, railway offices and technical structures.
The
Travellers Building currently consists of a narrow, one-storey block, located between the external roadway and the first rail track.
The station lacks sufficient longitudinal flow routes, which gives rise to congestion on the platform beside track 1, where the pedestrian flows to the tracks and railway services are concentrated.
